I. GENERAL: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. These are the official rules (the "Official Rules") for the VTech "Stay Connected" Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes"). The Sweepstakes is sponsored by VTech Communications, Inc. ("Sponsor"), 9590 SW Gemini Drive, Suite 120, Beaverton, OR 97008 and administered by GolinHarris International, Inc. ("Administrator"), 275-A McCormick Ave. - Suite 100, Costa Mesa, California 92626. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW OR REGULATIONS.
II. ELIGIBILITY: Entrants must be legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia (except residents of FL, HI and AK are prohibited from entering). Entrants must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at time of entry. Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Sponsor, Administrator, or any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Sweepstakes or supplying the prizes, and their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three (3) months a year. Individuals who have won any other prizes from Sponsor within ninety (90) days of entry are not eligible to enter this Sweepstakes.
III. SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. PST on August 18, 2010, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on September 30, 2010 (the "Sweepstakes Period").
IV. HOW
| 1. WEBSITE: | You may enter the Sweepstakes by registering on the www.staygrounded.com website. To activate registration, use the "Share" button function on www.staygrounded.com, and then enter your first and last name and e-mail address in the "Contact" fields. Entrants may be asked to consent to receive promotional E-mails from Sponsor and other promotional partners. Consenting to receive such promotional E-mails is optional and is not necessary in order to enter or win the Sweepstakes. | ||

MAIL: | You may enter the Sweepstakes by mailing your first and last name, mailing address and e-mail address, if any, to GolinHarris International, Inc., Attn: VTech Stay Connected Sweepstakes, 275-A McCormick Ave. - Suite 100, Costa Mesa, California 92626. Proof of mailing does not constitute proof of receipt. |
Limit one (1) entry per person/e-mail address per day. Duplicate entries for a single individual during a day will be disqualified. Non-winning entries from each Weekly Phone Prize Drawing will be carried over for inclusion in subsequent Weekly Phone Prize drawings and the Grand Prize drawing during the Sweepstakes Period. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. Entries remain the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.
All Weekly Phone Prize entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PST each Thursday of the Sweepstakes Period to be included in that week's drawing. All Grand Prize entries must be received, or postmarked if sent by mail, by September 30, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
V. PRIZES:

Prizes are not transferable, assignable or redeemable for cash. No prize substitutions, except as provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize is unavailable for any reason.
VI. WINNER SELECTION: Administrator is an independent organization whose decisions as to the administration and operation of the Sweepstakes and the selection of the potential winners are final and legally binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Administrator will randomly select the potential Weekly Phone Prize winner each Friday during the Sweepstakes Period. For example, the first potential Weekly Phone Prize winner will be selected on Friday, August 27, 2010 from entries received between August 18, 2010 and August 26, 2010. The last potential Weekly Phone Prize winner will be selected on October 1, 2010 from entries received between September 23, 2010 and September 30, 2010. The potential Grand Prize winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period, on or around September 30, 2010 (the "Sweepstakes End Date"). Potential winners will be notified within one (1) week of their selection by e-mail or mail using the e-mail and/or mailing address provided at the time of entry.
In the event the Grand Prize winner or a Phone Prize winner is deemed ineligible, fails to comply with these Sweepstakes Official Rules, or is not available to claim their prize during specified dates, then the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner via a second chance random drawing.
Each potential winner's response to the prize notification must be received by Administrator within 10 days of the potential winner's receipt of such prize notification or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner via a second chance random drawing. Winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability release (and, where permitted, publicity release) within same 10-day period or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner via a second chance random drawing. The Grand Prize winner's travel companion (if applicable) may be required to sign a liability and publicity release (where legal) prior to ticketing. If the travel companion is a minor, the Grand Prize winner must be that minor's parent or legal guardian and must execute a liability and publicity release (where legal) on behalf of the minor.
VII. LIMITATIONS and DISCLAIMERS: Limit one (1) prize per person or household. The Grand Prize winner will not receive cash or any other form of compensation and must comply with terms and conditions from American Airlines© listed here: https://giftcards.aa.com/terms.jsp.
Neither sponsor nor Administrator shall be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air carriers, hotels or other transportation companies or any other persons providing any of these services and accommodations necessitated by same. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Sweepstakes, and those set forth by Sponsor or Administrator's airline carrier of choice as detailed in the passenger ticket contract. Lost, stolen or damaged airline tickets will not be replaced or exchanged. All expenses not specifically mentioned herein, are not included as part of any Grand Prize package, and are solely the Grand Prize winner's responsibility, including, but not limited to: hotel charges, hotel taxes, additional ground transportation at the Grand Prize winner's destination(s), travel insurance, room service, bag check fees, parking fees, laundry service, food, alcoholic beverages, merchandise, souvenirs, telephone calls, tips, gratuities and service charges. Airline carrier conditions apply.
Prize winners and any travel companion (as applicable to the Grand Prize) are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and any other expenses and costs not expressly listed above, including, but not limited to, as related to the Grand Prize, transfers, gratuities, meals, fuel, rental car, incidentals, and entertainment.
All taxes on prizes and other expenses related to accepting and/or using these prizes not listed in these Official Rules are the sole responsibility of the winner. The value of the prize the winner receives will be taxable to such winner as income. All winners must supply Sponsor with his/her social security number for tax purposes. An IRS Form 1099 will be issued in the name of winner, for the actual value of the prize received. Sponsor shall have no responsibility or obligation to any winner or potential winner who is unable or unavailable to accept or utilize any prize as described herein.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, failed, partial or garbled entries, computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. No responsibility is assumed for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any mail, e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web-site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Contest. In the event of a dispute over an electronic entry, prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the e-mail account, not the name on the entry form. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
VIII. RELEASES: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final in all respects. Failure to comply with these official rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to release Sponsor, Administrator, and their parents, subsidiaries, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Sweepstakes and/or acceptance or use of the prize. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event that the preceding release is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or void for any reason, the entrant agrees that, by entering the Sweepstakes, (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event attorney's fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
IX. WINNERS LIST: For a list of the winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to VTech Communications, Inc., 9590 SW Gemini Drive, Suite 120, Beaverton, OR 97008 within one (1) year after the Sweepstakes End Date. Vermont residents may omit return postage.
